Talladega Superspeedway announced and revealed its new bold and brash official logo today during a special event at the track.
The refreshed branding was born to enhance what makes Talladega Superspeedway great. It is quintessential NASCAR, where drivers have nerves of steel, and winners are forged by the most intense competition NASCAR has to offer.
“Talladega Superspeedway has always been known for providing intense racing and the evolution of our logos reflect our history well,” said Talladega Superspeedway President Brian Crichton. “The new logo will display our passion for edge-of-your-seat racing while honoring the tradition and legacy of all those who helped shape what Talladega has become today.”
The colors of the new logo represent the bold and brashness of the track, while also paying homage to the industry that built the Alabama region, homing in on black, grey and an intense red. The A’s in the new identity are a way to accent the speed of the track, where winners are determined by razor thin margins.
The new logo perfectly correlates with what the 2.66-mile venue represents – a legacy forged by history, being the biggest, fastest, widest, steepest, and most intimidating racetrack in the world. This serves as the fourth official logo throughout the history of the famed superspeedway, dating back to 1969.
The new logo will be reflected on signage across numerous areas at the superspeedway and represents the authenticity of the track. Fans know that Talladega is more than just racing and that it serves as a weekend getaway full of spectacle, uniqueness, and culture throughout the venue.
There will also be secondary logos that are used for merchandise and additional signage at the superspeedway. Alabama state outlines are included in the refreshed brand with one of the showcasing “DEGA” written in big, bold letters across the state. Telling a regional story, this was born from a sense of pride in the place Talladega Superspeedway calls home.
Special guest appearances at the official logo unveiling include two former winners – David Ragan and Red Famer – along with Bret Holmes. Ragan won the 2013 GEICO 500 at Talladega and will attempt to qualify for the 2024 DAYTONA 500 next week with RFK Racing driving the No. 60 BuildSubmarines.com Ford. Farmer, a NASCAR Hall of Famer and original member of the famed Alabama Gang, won two ARCA Menards Series races at Talladega Superspeedway in 1984 and 1988. Holmes, who lives 15 minutes from the track in Munford, competes full-time in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series in the No. 32 Chevrolet Silverado for Bret Holmes Racing and was the 2020 ARCA Menards Series champion.
The spring race weekend action at Talladega kicks off on Saturday, April 20, with a doubleheader featuring the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 200 at 11:30 p.m. CT and continues at 3:00 p.m. CT with the NASCAR Xfinity Series Ag-Pro 300. On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series stars will duke it out during the GEICO 500 to close out the weekend at 2:00 p.m. CT.
